Summary: RCVP will help with a monthly pet food distribution aimed at supporting OC families to help them care for their companion animals during times of financial hardship by providing essential pet supplies, such as dog and cat food.

In order to help reduce pet abandonment and support public health and well-being, RCVP with work with OC Animal Care to provide and distribute cat and dog food to low-income families and individuals in OC to help ensure that companion animals can remain in loving homes rather being surrendered or abandoned. A total of $750 will be used to support this project.
The project will begin planning after approval from TRF and will be completed by April 30th, 2026. An estimated 6-10 RCVP members will participate in a monthly Pet Pantry distribution, as well as assisting with food packaging and distribution, transporting donated supplies to the pantry site, organizing inventory and restocking, supporting registration and on-site coordination.
