Project Description Country: USA Location: Fort Worth Total Budget: $1,248 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Providing dictionaries for 3rd graders in Title 1 Schools. Our Club provides dictionaries to 3rd graders at four Title 1 elementary schools. The funds will be used to purchase the dictionaries, which cost $4 each. Our members go to each school, hand out the dictionaries and provide a demonstration of how to use the dictionaries - from looking up words, to using the maps and other additional information that is included (and updated) each year in the dictionary. The dictionaries are kept by the students and for some, it is the first book that they own.
