Project Description Country: USA Location: Mineral Wells, Texas Total Budget: $3,612 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: Volunteer Services Summary: Funding 840 Congregate Meals for Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County The Rotary Club of Mineral Wells has supported Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County for over a decade. Each Friday, members of our club volunteer to deliver meals to the residents of Mineral Wells. Every member of our club is involved in this effort. Due to federal and state budget cuts, Meals on Wheels is facing a reduction of $65,000 in Federal and State funds towards its congregate meals, which are served at the Mineral Wells Senior Center. The Rotary Club of Mineral Wells will fund 840 meals utilizing our District Grant Funds, while also continuing to partner with this organization to serve home-delivered meals each week. The Rotary Club of Mineral Wells will continue to support Meals on Wheels with our time and resources, even as State and Federal leaders cut their funding. We believe in the mission of this organization and pledge to support it by paying for 840 congregate meals.
