The Cheyenne County Rotary Club has identified a significant community need for reliable, shared-use food service equipment that can support a variety of local events, organizations, and service activities. Community groups-such as the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce, event committees, youth organizations, and service clubs-often struggle to access affordable, dependable equipment for concessions during festivals, fundraisers, and public gatherings. This lack of shared resources limits the ability of local organizations to raise funds, support programming, and enhance community events.
To address this need, the Cheyenne County Rotary Club proposes to purchase and donate a set of concession and food-preparation equipment to the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce for their oversight and directed community use. The Chamber will house the equipment in their storage area and make it available to authorized community groups upon request. This shared-use model ensures the equipment benefits the entire community and is not limited to a single organization.
The equipment donated will include:
-double pizza oven
-metal folding table for the oven
-butter warming kettle
-cheese dispenser
-popcorn machine
-Square card reader for digital payment capability
These items will help community organizations offer fresh food, improve service quality, and operate more efficient and financially successful events.
How the Project Meets the Need:
By placing this equipment under the Chamber of Commerce's management, we create a durable, shared community resource. The Chamber can authorize use by local nonprofits, service clubs, school groups, and event committees, reducing financial barriers and improving event quality across Cheyenne County. This approach increases community capacity while strengthening collaboration among local groups.
Club Member Involvement:
Cheyenne County Rotary Club members will be actively involved in researching and purchasing the equipment, coordinating the donation with the Chamber, and assisting with volunteer training or demonstrations for groups that wish to use the equipment. Club members will also help promote the availability of these shared resources to ensure widespread community access.
Timeline:
August 2025: Purchase equipment
Early September 2025: Deliver equipment to the Chamber, finalize storage, and develop usage guidelines with Chamber staff
September 2025: Train Chamber staff and authorized community members on proper use
October 1, 2025: Project completion and community rollout
Long-Term Impact:
This project establishes lasting infrastructure that will support Cheyenne County community events for many years. By ensuring the equipment is centrally stored, well-maintained, and broadly accessible, the project strengthens local organizations' ability to serve the community, raise funds, host events, and meet local needs.
