Summary: Urban Forest support of Tree Farm and Arbor Day
This grant will support the on-going effort for a better Urban Forest in the City of San Clemente by buying trees for public areas which will initially be planted in the newly established Tree Farm near the Municipal Golf Course. In the past several years, San Clemente Rotary has supported the Arbor Day efforts to build the Urban Forest with 22 trees in 2023 and 30 trees in 2024, 50 trees in 2025 and 23 trees in 2026. Two other non-profits also support this project every year.
The trees are 24" boxed trees - typically California Live Oak or Jacaranda trees - native to the area. Club members will be involved in publicizing the event, working with the city to plan the event and members and volunteers will plant, fertilize and water the trees after planting.
