Summary: Backpacks and school supplies for the children in Acuna, Mexico. 'Mi Mochila, Tu Mochila'
The Rotary Club of Fort Collins plans to provide backpacks filled with school supplies to deserving school children in 1st through 6th grades in Acuna, Mexico. The same project was successfully implemented on September 1, 2025 using club donations, ten members and guests attending, with backpacks presented to seven schools on the children's first day back to school. We plan to partner with the Fort Collins Foothills Club, with members traveling together to complete the project. The Del Rio, Texas Rotary Club, District 5840 will collaborate as well, and the Acuna Empresarial Rotary Club, District 4110 will host as they did last year. In 2025 we filled 460 backpacks with $2700 in club funds to purchase the supplies. We anticipate slightly higher costs this year to purchase all the items.

This project is "Approved". This means that the district leadership has reviewed and approved the allocation of district funds for this project. Once the funds from the district have been issued, the status of the project will be changed to "Paid".
