Summary: Complete buildout of Boys & Girls Club of Central Wyoming Greenhouse by proving interior structures and materials, building planting beds and work stations


Project Summary & Execution

The funding is allocated for completing the buildout of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Wyoming Greenhouse.

Physical Infrastructure: Club volunteers and members will build internal structures, including planting beds, work benches/stations, storage cabinets, and drip irrigation systems.

Initial Supplies: The budget covers the initial garden supplies necessary to launch the program immediately.

Implementation: The physical labor required to construct these stations will be provided completely by volunteer labor from the Casper Five Trails Rotary Club.

Long-Term Objectives

The overarching goal of this purpose-built, accessible facility is to educate the students in several key areas:

Sustainable Agriculture: Teaching students how to garden for active food production.

Nutrition: Opportunities for the students to learn how to cook using fresh, healthy foods and developing better eating habits.

Entrepreneurship: Instructing students on how to sell the food items they grow as a functional business.

Eco-Awareness: Promoting environmentally conscious gardening practices.

Funding: The club currently holds approx $1100 in Menards rebates from a previous project, that will be used to purchase some of the materials for this project. All remaining costs will be covered by club and grant funds.

Please add a budget of income and expenses for this project to the documents area of the grant. Once you have done that please complete the signature process by having the project contact(you) and the club PE or President sign.

You and the club PE still need to complete the signature process. To do this go to the description area of the grant, click on the "Administration" tab in the upper right. About halfway down the page you will see "Start Club Signature Process". Click on that and check your name and your PE or President name. Once you enter those names Matching grants will send a code to your and the PE's email. Enter that code in matching grants and you will have signed off on the grant. Please complete this by this Monday if at all possible.
