Summary: Phase 1 of building a pergola in the lone green space in downtown Arnold, Nebraska, for community members to gather.
Koubek Gardens is the lone green space in downtown Arnold, Nebraska. The park already boasts a Little Library and a beautiful water feature. But it lacks shade and sufficient seating. Community members gather to eat lunch, rest after shopping, shop at the Farmer's Market, read, or to visit. This project is phase 1 of building a pergola structure on the property, which will provide quality seating and shade. This pergola is also being built to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Arnold. Our anniversary is March 2028. This project has two phases. The first phase in 2026-2027 is to prepare the site. The broken up cement and tiles will be removed and the new cement laid. Phase two in 2027-2028 will be the actual construction of the pergola structure. Club members are responsible for creating the design, buying the cement and rebar, and labor.
