This project fosters global goodwill by bringing international and local athletes together for an annual January race‑walking event. The next event, scheduled for January 24, 2027, in Santee, CA. will be the Santee International Race Walk Invitational held alongside the USATF National Marathon Race Walk Championships. This project is made possible through a Rotary District 5340 matching grant, which provides $650 in District funds matched with the Rotary Club of Sweetwater San Diego's $650 club contribution. This combined $1300 budget coupled with sponsors and donors support ensures the success of the event and strengthens Rotary's commitment to peacebuilding, community engagement, and international goodwill, through sport.
