On November 10, our Rotary Club will host a community donation event at the Tarrytown Senior Center to collect essential hygiene and sanitary products for local teens ages 13-18. Community members will be invited to stop by, enjoy light appetizers and drinks, learn more about Rotary, and donate needed items. Our club will use $3,000 of the grant funds to match any products donated by the community, and will use $500 of the grant funds to purchase food and nonalcoholic beverages from local restaurants to have at our event.
Working with local food banks, we will identify essential products that are often not available through existing food assistance programs. Donations will then be distributed to local teenagers who need these basic personal care items. This project aims to address an important but often overlooked need in our community while bringing residents together in support of local youth.
Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)
A local Senior Housing business (and Rotary Member) has agreed to sponsor some of the food at our event, and the event will be held at a local church from 5:30-7:30pm on 11/10/2026.
