Project Title: Veteran's Honor Wall Project


Project Description

2. What was done, when and where did project activities take place, and who were the beneficiaries?

The Sunrise Rotary and Noon Rotary Clubs of Marshall assisted jointly on the final phase of Memorial Park's Honor Wall. The Honor Wall will lists all local military personnel who lost their lives in battle. The Rotary club provided the funding as well as this grant, for a portion of the Honor Wall. The Rotary members also assisted with laying the bricks that will surround the Honor Wall.

Park staff from the city spent countless hours raising funds to fully fund the project beyond the Honor Wall-landscaping, sculpture, lighting etc.

Additional work was done such as pouring concrete, organizing the dedication event.

10. What are the expected long-term community impacts of the project?

The Veteran's Honor Wall stands as a symbol of America’s honor and recognition of the men and women who served and sacrificed their lives for us. Inscribed on bricks are the names of those who have served. The Honor Wall is dedicated to honor the courage, sacrifice and devotion to duty and country of all who answered the call to serve.

The Veteran's Honor Wall is located in the City of Marshall, a regional center and thus, the Honor Wall will impact the region.

11. If a cooperating organization was involved, please identify it and describe the role it played.

City of Marshall helped with fundraising, actual installation of the entire project.
