District Grant Final Report

District 5340

2020-21

Rotary Club: North County San Diego-Route 78

Project Title: Rise Against Hunger North Coun

Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Rise Against Hunger normally gets groups to donate and hold events to package the food. Last year we had such an event, and had maybe 50 people packaging the food, which was enough for 11,000 meals, enough to feed 66,000. This year, due to Corvid-19 restrictions, we made a cash only donation of the $2000 budgeted to Rise Against Hunger. The $2000 we donated should be enough for Rise Against Hunger to purchase supplies for around 5000 packs.

2. How many people benefited from this project? 5000 familes

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

The beneficiaries are those who would receive the meals provided by Rise Against Hunger. Having food for those in need was the humanitarian need met.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 0

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

Due to the Corvid-19 restrictions, this was a cash only donation and not the planned packaging event.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

Rise Against Hunger provides food to the needy.
