Global Scholar for masters degree in China-US relations with a focus on South China Sea conflict prevention. Goal is to become familiar with China and international relations on a level that will allow applicant to form policy and promote future cooperation. The ultimate objective being to leave England prepared to lead efforts in establishing a peaceful relationship with China. In particular, the objective is to help the U.S. Navy navigate the challenges in the South China Sea.

Studies begin September 2017 and will be completed in June of 2019.

Danny successfully completed the Fall courses and has begun the 2nd 1/2 of his year at Peking University.On Dec 1 he presented a program on his experiences to date in China to his sponsoring club, Southlake Rotary, via SnapChat live from Beijiing.

TRF annual report submitted on time in late June. Finally signed by all required parties in late August. All work at Peking University completed successfully. Danny has moved to London in preparation for the 2nd part of the grant at LSE in mid-September.

Final report in progress. All courses and exams completed in May. Vegel to remain in UK until Sept to present his thesis. All funds expended and no additional expenses will be incurred. Bank account closed with zero balance.
