Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Coimbatore Total Budget: $99,250 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment GLOBAL GRANT PROPOSAL To Provide Rehabilitation / Vocational training for Spinal Cord injured Patients. RC of Coimbatore, India, RI District 3201 and Local Rotary Club and RI district 5440 FOCUS AREA: Disease prevention and treatment Project: RC of Coimbatore, India is planning to partner with Ganga Spine Injury Rehab Centre (GSIRC) to provide Rehab/Vocational training for spinal cord injury patients It will benefit at least 400 patients over a two year period and beyond. The project will provide computers, printing press and other Rehab equipment to provide the care. The victims are coconut tree climbers, building workers and traffic accidents and has no avenue for Rehab training programs. GSIRRC also provide some acute care and other medical services. .GSIRC provides a comprehensive program for Rehab following spinal cord injury and is only four such centers in India .Rehab program includes physical and Occupational therapy, medical care, training for daily living activities, vocational training including tailoring, basic computer skills, ,photo shop, and industrial training , social and psychological services.
