Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Community economic development
A Birthing Center is being conceptualized to cater to the needs of the indigent people of the Pantay-Buhangin communities of Barangays Bagumbayan and Dalig in Teresa, Rizal, as well as the nearby communities of Talaga and Yapak of Barangay Maybangcal in Morong, Rizal. These communites are remote areas and there are reported cases of unattended deliveries thereby causing increased perinatal morbidities and mortalities. The possibility of improving maternal and child health status will be a realization in accordance with the Millennium Development Goals as well as the RI focus on maternal and child health and disease prevention. With this project, health care delivery for these communities will be more efficient and available considering their distance of about 15 kilometers from the nearest public hospital for prenatal consults and deliveries. Moreover, normal spontaneous vaginal deliveries will be undertaken with the supervision of qualified health professionals thereby minimizing perinatal complications.
The project is expected to be completed on the following timetable: Phase 1- construction of the Birthing Center for 5 months and; Phase 2- completion of necessary permits, licenses, Philhealth accreditation and staffing prior to operation for 5 months.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
