Project Description Region: Africa Country: Uganda Location: Buikwe District Total Budget: $195,993 Areas of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene, Community economic development View Online Proposal Form The Rotary Club of Kajjansi is building a Technical institute in Buikwe, to equip the youth with skills they can use to empower themselves and their families economically, and also reduce on the crime rate in that area. Thus technical institute will be unique, , it will provide an opportunity to even those that have never been to formal Education to learn a skill. In this project, the Rotary club of kajjansi has sought partnership with the Brothers of Christian Instruction in Kisubi, with their expertise to take over the management of the institute. The construction of Two blocks and a staff quarter has been completed on a 12 acre piece of land (done with support from Walter foundation)what is required now is Equipping and provision of water to the institute and the surrounding community. The Project funds will be used to put in place a water supply system and buying the equipment for the Various departments, Furniture and Text books. The Club Members will together with other contributing clubs closely monitor the procurement exercise, Engage in community sensitization and mobilization for support especially for community project ownership and will be instrumental in generating and submitting the project reports. This project will take one year to complete from the time of receiving the funds.
