Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health
Background: With the epidemiological transition, Bangladesh is going through a diseases transition, where the country is moving from deaths due to infectious diseases and having deaths through chronic non- communicable diseases like cancer. Based on the recent Bangladesh Maternal Mortality and Health Care Survey 2016, cancer is the major cause of death for adult Bangladeshi women.
Objective: To create a Oncology Skills Transfer project, where a group of international doctors and nurses specializing on various disciplines of oncology, will travel to Bangladesh and train the doctors and nurses of Bangladesh, so that Bangladeshi population can be served with international level skills.
