Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Perambalure, Manapparai Total Budget: $77,860 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Villages around Perambalure, Manapparai & Nilakottai have no primary health centers. For any health needs the residents need to travel down atleast about 20 Kms to meet doctor and to get some medical assistance. For specialty treatments and multiple tests, they need to travel about 70 Kms. Most of the villagers are farmers and labors in farming. They ignore their symptoms in health and only when they have serious illness they travel to hospital to diagnose. The Mobile clinic can go to villages at regular intervals, so that residents can meet doctors and diagnose for basic health issues. This mobile clinic will also create awareness on diseases and prevention methods. This project will address the need of primary health care for residents in village.
