Project Description Region: South America Country: Brazil Location: Presidente Prudente - SP Total Budget: $35,844 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment View Online Proposal Form The goal of the project is to equip the Cancer Hospital of Presidente Prudente, a philanthropic entity, with endoscope disinfection and washing devices, aiming for the total safety of endoscopy and other procedures, in face of direct contact with patients. This equipament will be fundamental to provide the patient safety and care during endoscopy, colonoscopy and rectosigmoidoscopy examination procedures. In order to optimize the flow of sterilization procedures and the risks of cross infection, the need is for two devices. The beneficiary, Cancer Hospital of Presidente Prusente, is already a reality. Its construction began in 1997 with funds donated by the community and public authorities. The Rotary clubs from Presidente Prudente have had and continue to play an important role in building and equipping the hospital. The cancer patients, the city community and from the vast region are also benificied. Not to mention that the entire population is helped through preventive exams. Today the hospital is being equipped in order to attendd, free of charge, the cancer patients. The acquisition of endoscopes is getting to the final step, making necessary the disinfection machines, object of our project.
