Kolati Village is the village of backwards indigenous people with households of 450 and population of 2325( Male :930 Female : 1395).The literacy rate of this village is 56.21% (source:local government) and unemployment rate of 87.25% (source:local government).The main occupation of people of this place is agriculture which can only afford for 3 months as area is dry area & farmer only grow maize & some cereal and rest of the month they go and search for labor work. 89 % houses of this village were destroyed by NepalEarthquake2015 and 3 people died & 20 were injured. They still rebuilding the houses with the help of Nepal Government (USD.3000) and loan of about USD.15000 from cooperative at the interest rate of 18 % . Government emphasis to make earthquake resistance house but it is quiet expensive for the community like this which has no employment and struggling for livelihood. This place is vulnerable for human trafficking and it has been reported that some girls have been smuggled in search of better life and job.

During need assessment it was found that people need some sort of work to live and since most them are farmers , people requested for goat farming as goats are easy to raise and have good market.According to Department of Livestock Services during Fiscal Year 2017/18; there are 10,986,114 goats in Nepal. Similarly, 65,583 metric tons of goat meat is produced which is 20 per cent of the total meat produced.That means goat meat has very good market.It is found that 2 good breeds of goat can generate the income of NRs.1300000 (USD.13000)in 3 years .

The budget will be used in following items:

1.Construction of goat sheds (Nepal Government Model),feeders,forage

2.Purchase of good breed of goats

3.Purchase of good breed of bucks

4.Training on Goat Farming

5. Insurance of Goats & Bucks

6. Vaccination & medication of goats & bucks
