Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Peru

Location: Santiago de Surco

Total Budget: $90,000

Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health

Washer / Sterilizer of bottles. Milk Bank Department of Neonatology. National Maternal Perinatal Institute "

Community Need:

The monthly increase in births, a situation that rises hospital admissions in Neonatology, being prematurity one of its main causes. This kind of newborns are patients that need specialized follow-up in the external consultation, increasing the demand for care in external neonatology offices in a quick and efficient way, hindering the well attention because of the lack of the milk bottles to newborns.

Activities planned to address the need and how the project will be maintained in the long term:

The National Maternal Perinatal Institute is a health facility with intensive obstetric and neonatal functions and is subdivided in immediate care of newborns in the maternity ward that has 02 rooms, each with equipment ready to provide care for 02 newborns. It should be noted that the maternity ward has 20 rooms which means that there can be more than 02 births simultaneously and therefore the activities manually carried out such as the washing of milk bottles is not enough for the fast attention to newborns and mothers.

Early financing of the project: US $ 90,000 for the purchase of a washer and sterilizer of milk bottles

Name machine: Uniclean® PL II 10 Premium Line.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
