End Anemia in Children

History Logs

Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Peru

Location: Huanuco-Huancavelica-Lima

Total Budget: $30,000

Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health

According to the report published by the INEI in 2018, the highest rates of chronic malnutrition in the population under five years of age were reported in Huancavelica (32.0%), Cajamarca (27.4%), Huánuco (22 , 4%), Amazonas (20.4%), Ayacucho (20.2%), Apurímac (20.1%) and Loreto (20.0%).

We can start in the department of Huánuco for being one of those with a higher rate of malnutrition and closeness to be able to carry out the monitoring of progress and results.

For the execution of the project, more precise information will be obtained to identify the areas where this problem has the greatest incidence. Likewise, the support of the community organizations will be sought to carry out the campaign against malnutrition in its initial stage, execution, monitoring, monitoring and feedback.

The distribution of a cookie enriched with iron is proposed, whose positive results have been evidenced through a pilot carried out by the Ministry of Health with the distribution of a daily package of 30 grams for 30 days.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
