It is estimated that about 2,00,000 children are born every year in India with Congenital Heart Diseases (CHD). Of these only about 2% receive proper treatment. The rest are left to fend for themselves since their parents donot have the resources for Corrective Pediatric Heart Surgeries.
District 3141 has a tie up with with super specialty hospitals in Mumbai for performing such surgeries at special rates for Rotary. Between 1st Nov 2012 and 25th July, nearly 1400 surgeries have been successfully performed in World Class Pediatric Cardiac Care Centre facilities.
Our Club is determined to continue being a Partner to this mammoth Humanitarian effort of Rotary District 3141 and give the Noblest Gift - The Gift of Life - to children from less fortunate sections of our society.
The Project will be executed in Mumbai either at one of the super specialty hospitals with whom District 3141 has a tie up. They have state-of-art facilities; One of the best equipped Operation Theatres in India, PICU, highly trained and motivated Pediatric Cardiac Surgeons, Pediatric anesthetists and Nursing staff.
The beneficiaries will be about 65 children from newborn to 16 years of age identified with CHD and whose parents have no resources to save the life of their child.
