This project is a Global Grant Scholarship to enable our candidate to pursue a Master's degree in Health and International Development at the University College London. The overall needs being addressed are worldwide disease prevention and treatment, particularly in developing countries. The anticipated timeline is as follows:

July 2021 - Candidate completes her 2nd year of medical school at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX

September 2021 - Candidate begins her Master degree studies at UCL under this Global Grant

September 2022 - Candidate completes her Masters degree at UCL under this Global Grant

Fall 2022 - Candidate returns for her 3rd and final year of medical school

2023 - Candidate completes medical school

The project funds will be used to pay for books, room and board and tuition at UCL.

Host club members will host Candidate at club meetings, introduce her to other Rotary Scholars, and be available for support and encouragement.

International club members will communicate with her regarding progress, and will schedule her to attend and speak at club and district events when she returns.

We have not been paid by the Rotary Foundation, but no funds have been due to UCL. Our scholar's term at UCL is scheduled to start in late September, just a few days aftershe completes her exams. She is going to let us know the date at which she requires funding.

Our scholar arrved in London in March, and is enjoying her studies at University College London to pursue her MSc in Global Health and Development. She has met with her Host Club Coordinator in London, Mr. Fran Holmes.

The scholar has completed all her classes at UCL and is back in the US, resuming her rotations in medical school. She is still working on her dissertation, and plans to submit it in the spring of 2023. Her dissertation advisor is aware.
