Project Objectives :
•To cater the needs of patients with voice and speech disorder from low and medium socio economic background who had developed the voice problems over a period of time due to their profession like teachers, hawkers, preachers, street singers, etc..
•Very early stage diagnosis of patients with Laryngitis, Vocal cord paralysis, Phonotrauma, Laryngotracheal Stenosis, Recurrent respiratory Papillomatosis and Vocal cord cancer, Esophegal Cancer etc
Direct Beneficiaries : Patients from economically weaker section with voice disorders
No.Of Beneficiaries : Approx 15000+ over a period of 8 years
Need Assessment :
•Voice Clinic facility is currently not available in any government hospital in and around Pune city
•Patients from Economically weaker sections cannot afford the facility available in private hospital
•Proposed Plan Of Action : Set up Voice clinic by providing following instruments-
a. Flexible nasopharyngolaryngoscope
b. Stroboscope
c. High definition Camera
d. Doctor Speech and Language software and required Hardware
Beneficiary Institution strengths :
a. State run hospital, 150 years old institution serving poor and needy population
b. Availability of Infrastructure for the project and a capacity of 1296 beds.
c. Within this hospital, the Department of ENT is spread over a space of 29000 sq ft accommodating 60 beds. The department has an OPD area of 3600 sq ft. The operation theatre available are 2 modular, 2 non modular, 1 septic with anicilliary rooms spread over 7000 sf ft in the newly built up building. The ENT department alone has a staff strength of 11 doctors, 18 Resident doctors and 14 servants.
d. Heavy OPD- It has around 8 lakhs patients yearly for the entire hospital.
Project Measurabilty :
•No.of patient diagnosed with voice disorders and recommended for further treatment.
•No.of patients diagnosed with early cancer detection.
Project Budget : USD $ 98,000
Project Sustainability :
•Reputed organization with government backup
•AMC for 3 years through project funding. After 3 yrs, it will be taken care by Sasoon Hospital.
•Very less consumable requirements.
•Continues flow of economically weaker patients.

•Past experience in Global Grant projects in 2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-17 in various Rotary areas of focus.
