Beneficência Camiliana do Sul - Hospital Beneficente Santa Terezinha - HBST, with its activities since October 3, 1945, being a private non-profit entity, directly employs 215 employees and has 54 doctors in its Clinical Staff. It is a general hospital with 57 hospital beds, 24-hour emergency room, 6 outpatient beds, 3 operating rooms, 1 obstetric room, 5 Covid-19 ICU beds and with 60% of the structure geared to assisting SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde) users. ). In 2020, 20,539 X-ray exams, 15,813 ultrasound exams, 4,694 mammography exams, 3,434 CT scans were performed. In the emergency room, 32,265 consultations were carried out. 3,862 hospitalizations, 2,944 surgeries and 604 deliveries were also performed. The Hospital is a reference in the Upper Region of Vale do Taquari (which covers the following municipalities: Anta Gorda, Arvorezinha, Coqueiro Baixo, Dois Lajeados, Doutor Ricardo, Encantado, Ilópolis, Muçum, Nova Brescia, Putinga, Lawn, Roca Sales, Vespasiano Correa ), covering a population of 77,417 inhabitants (IBGE, 2016), as it offers a wide range of services and medical specialties. That is why it is essential to continue the investments necessary to serve the population of the Region.
In order to maintain the quality of the services offered, improve working conditions and assistance to the population, the hospital has projects that aim to reform and expand the current structure. A Master Plan of the Hospital was elaborated and from then on, the elaboration of architectural projects began to adapt the structure to the legal requirements and expanding the physical structure for the implantation of the new surgical center, obstetric center, sterile material center and ICU . This is an old claim of the population of the Upper Region of Vale do Taquari.
