In India, Rural community has very limited Medical facilities available to them. More often than not, even these limited facilities lack sophisticated equipment required for high precision and complicated surgery.
Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Hospital (SSSSMH) is a multi-specialty institution, located in the rural belt of Karnataka, offering free services in the departments of General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT, Orthopedics, Dentistry, Physiotherapy and a well-equipped laboratory and Radiology facility for diagnostic services. All patient services at SSSSMH are offered completely Free of Cost. To provide a cutting edge to its Surgical Procedures and to make it more effective, they are desirous of installing a State of the Art Surgical Microscope in their OT which will enable them to conduct Critical Middle and Inner Ear Surgeries with high precision. It will also be useful in Microscopic Neurological surgeries for the critical surgeries of the brain.
At the request of hospital administration as well as of community leaders and self-help groups to Rotary Club of Bangalore Junction and after club's own investigation, the club members were convinced that there is a genuine need to install High Precision Surgical Microscope in OT of SSSSMH. This initiative is expected to save and improve many lives every year, particularly from underprivileged and rural communities.
