The San José University Hospital makes a commitment to open highly complex services such as Angiography, Hemodynamic and Renal Transplantation and together with them, based on the institutional will and the available human talent, visualizes the Cardiac Surgery service as the first response for the department of Cauca, within the framework of the complementarity of the cardiovascular route due to the urgency that arises regarding the statistics that exist for this pathology, of every 1000 catheterizations, 200 end in surgeries for an average of 15 interventions monthly which are those carried out for this health condition.

The main objective of this project is the acquisition of medical equipment to equip a cardiac surgery room at the HUSJ of Popayán, essential in the cardiac surgery operating room, so that the cardiovascular anaesthesiology specialist can administer inhaled to obtain anaesthesia for the patient and subsequently guarantee mechanical ventilation or gas exchange of the patient, thus supplying the function of the lungs during the surgical process. Maintaining total or partial anaesthesia. Additionally, it will have invasive monitoring and other parameters such as capnography, pulse oximetry, central blood pressure, among others, to keep different health status indicators monitored during the procedure.

To achieve this, the acquisition of equipment is proposed, an anaesthesia machine, Draeger brand, Atlan 350, with a 15" screen, controlled ventilation, advanced software, integrated anaesthetic gases module, also includes audible and visual alarms, anaesthetic gases module. integrated, accessories (gas supply hoses with chemetron coupling. Test lung, original battery and Oxygen Cell), administered O2 and airway pressure monitoring.

As a result of the above, a pressing need is aimed at reducing the number of complications and mortality of patients who require cardiac surgery service in the department of Cauca and avoiding referrals to other departments for this diagnosis.

The San José de Popayán University Hospital is considered the reference center for pathologies that require management with technologies, equipment and specialized personnel and within its institutional projection is the need to increasingly strengthen its services and its human talent to respond. to the needs of the region.

SUSTAINABILITY:

The San José de Popayán E.S.E University Hospital guarantees the sustainability of the project through the execution of the hospital maintenance item defined for each period and the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance schedule for the acquired equipment.

Through the processes of citizen participation such as the league of users of the institution and in the collective process of accountability to citizens, the users of the department express the needs of opening new services in the institution, prioritizing the cardiovascular route. with Hemodynamics, Angiography and highly complex Surgery services. On the other hand, they are responsible for carrying out oversight and social control of investments, service provision and satisfaction of users of the cardiac surgery service of the San José de Popayán E.S.E University Hospital.
