PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
Work to reduce the educational disparity of visually impaired students who are blind or have low vision in the city of Ibagué, training teachers, students and parents and establishing two typhlotechnology classrooms in order to promote inclusion and guarantee equal opportunities in the educational field and provide resources and tools that facilitate their autonomy, improve academic performance and quality.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project is born from the prevailing lack of equitable opportunities, and the need that the visually impaired or those with low vision have. They currently face significant barriers in fundamental areas such as education, employment and access to information. The lack of resources, adaptive technologies and inclusive programs perpetuates marginalization and limits their full participation in society. This project seeks to address these gaps, promoting inclusion, providing specific tools, and raising awareness to create an environment where people with visual impairments can develop their full potential and contribute fully to the community.
In short, addressing the problem of lack of accessibility for people with visual impairments is not only an ethical and legal imperative, but also enriches society by harnessing the full potential of all people, regardless of their physical or sensory abilities, We will also ensure their permanence and continuity in their education, we will improve the quality of education and life of these young people and their academic performance will improve.
The project will be carried out at the National Normal School, an institution that has been carrying out the inclusion program for people with visual disabilities as one of its priorities, but does not have support from the state bodies or the necessary technology that can favor their performance and permanence in higher education. The project will benefit not only students with this pathology from the National Normal School but all students from other educational institutions, universities and in general all the visually impaired in the city of Ibagué, and will also be a pilot program at the national level. .
We have considered certain variables to take into account:
Training, educational inclusion, permanence, skill development, improvement in academic performance, improve quality of life, access to information, labor empowerment, awareness, support classrooms, technological development, development of activities, equal opportunities, independence and autonomy, personal development, facilitating access to quality education.
Tasks to achieve the objectives:
1. TRAINING
Training will be provided to teachers, students and parents.
2. TIFLOTECHNOLOGY CLASSROOMS:
Two typhlotechnology classrooms (Technological tools that bring people with blindness or visual impairment closer to quality education) will be implemented, which will become a support network and will offer care to all users with visual disabilities in both the National Normal students and teachers from the city of Ibagué, will also be training sites for young children in braille and computer use.
Tyflotechnology classrooms are essential to foster the inclusion and autonomy of people with visual disabilities by providing access to specific technologies and by facilitating the development of digital skills necessary in today's society. These spaces play a crucial role in ensuring that people with visual disabilities have equal opportunities in education, work and society. In these classrooms, computer science education services will be provided with readers and screen magnifiers, cell phone use for blind people and other technological tools, and Braille printing services. For the provision of Tiflotechnology classrooms, specialized equipment is required which will improve access and performance of students and makes it easier for teachers to do their work as teachers. In addition, these classrooms will offer technical support and advisory services to solve specific problems related to the use of adaptive technologies. They will contribute to social inclusion, inclusive education, skills development and access to information such as consultation for class work.
Training for students, teachers and parents in the management of technologies will be provided through the company Soluciones Integrales VER, who will be the suppliers of the technology referred to in this project. These training sessions are free of charge and include sessions for teachers, parents and students.

Project beneficiaries:
• Teachers because they will have the tools and knowledge and complete training on pedagogical strategies for caring for students with visual disabilities to be able to correctly educate the disabled at the Escuela Normal Nacional de Ibagué́.
• The National Normal as a training center who will be left with the necessary technology for teaching and developing didactic material for the education and care of this group.
• Students because they will have access to training and technology training that will make their performance and access to inclusion easier and improve educational results.
THE TEACHERS
A survey was administered to teachers in which we were able to identify the following needs:
• Teachers lack strategies and training on how to deal with them.
• Lack of teaching material. They lack training for the development and design of resources.
They lack adequate material and humanization regarding disability.
• Not everyone has access to magnifying glasses and lenses, which makes the processes difficult.
They perform according to the support they have.
There is a lack of technological tools that allow us to better internalize the student's conditions.
• They copy with difficulty and read with difficulty and the board is difficult for them.
They need support from the houses.
• They are young people with very limited economic resources.
• Parents are completely unaware of the support. What can you give to your children?
TOPICS THAT THE PROJECT WILL ADDRESS TO SOLVE THESE NEEDS
• Training for teachers in inclusion and equity: towards the construction of an inclusive education policy for the city of Ibagué (3 days of three days)
• Organization of 3 days of training for teachers who are in charge of students with this disability in the classroom and for teachers from the entire city of Ibagué, in the preparation of teaching material, preparation of support material, preparation of material for the development of classes and resolution of tasks, which will allow teachers to use technology-based learning tools.
• Training on Tools to create accessible digital documents as part of the basic competencies for any teacher
• Two rooms specialized in technology with well-defined schedules so the teacher knows what time they can send students for reinforcements.
• Room with computers with specialized software and special braille programs, magnifying glasses, text translators into braille and audio,
• Training both students and teachers in the management of all the technology that will be implemented in the project.

BENEFICIARIES:
All teachers in the city of Ibague who work in colleges or schools that are managing inclusion programs.
STUDENTS
Community meetings were held with the students because due to their condition it was the easiest to evaluate their needs, in which they were allowed to express their points of view spontaneously.
• All students agree in pointing out the low preparation of teachers to meet the educational needs of this population with visual disabilities.
• They feel included in the classroom from the point of view of being present, but they do not have the possibility of actively participating in class. The teacher does not carry teaching materials.
• Another need is not wanting to feel discriminated against by your classmates. Colleagues are never given training on the topic of inclusion, equity and equality.
• Classrooms with precarious equipment and very obsolete technology. Bad communication networks.
• Lack of training in the use of technology for parents and students.
• Lack of extracurricular activities for students with visual impairments
• The National Normal School of Ibagué has an inclusion program, but this is not enough for students with disabilities, it has obsolete and inoperative technologies
• They need training on software for the blind
• Lack of access to recreational activities and events and extracurricular activities

• Students with visual disabilities will have access to all the training courses that will be taught, including those on technology management that will be delivered to meet the objectives of the project.

The project will address all these needs with an intensive training program aimed at teachers and students in the last two degrees of higher education who are preparing to be teachers on the topic "Pedagogical Strategies for the educational care of students with visual disabilities." and will be aimed at developing skills and providing knowledge to teachers in order to improve the academic performance of students.
Training will also be provided to parents so that at home they can help them do their homework and they can also collaborate in the "Connecting Senses" support classrooms.
We propose to equip these two classrooms with cutting-edge technology and at the same time take care of the training of teachers, students and parents as well as the people who will use them.
The project also includes forming a Rotary group for Community Development, as we found a group of people very committed to the project and willing to support and collaborate with the Rotarians of the CR Ibagué Valle de las Lanzas.
SUSTAINABILITY:
In a meeting held with the rector of the Normal Nacional of Ibagué, he showed great interest in the project and his commitment is that the training provided will continue to be replicated among teachers every year. He is committed to taking care of the equipment and providing them with all the safety protocol. to update the software and to keep the club informed annually about the results obtained by the students when introducing these new technologies.
The costs of maintenance and updating of the equipment software are borne by the technology provider, who also undertakes to provide annual update training.
To use the Brille printer, the teacher or student must bring the paper or pay the printing fee, and with that money collected more paper will be purchased.
To monitor and evaluate the project, a committee will be created that will be made up of the rector of the institution, the coordinator for students with visual disabilities, the academic coordinator of the institution, and the psychologist, and the Club will include the president, the vice president. , the president of the club's Project Committee and the president of the club's Rotary Foundation Committee, who will be in charge of executing the project monitoring and evaluation plan.

The educational community is the most motivated with the development of the project because it was as a result of a community meeting with them and their parents who exposed the most pressing needs that they had.
There is a commitment from teachers and educational institutions to collaborate and support the project. The commitment to sustainability and continuity of the project is fully guaranteed.
Commitments will be signed with the school directors where they commit to giving continuity and sustainability to the project so that it lasts over time. Every effort will be made to create the community development group so that they collaborate and get involved in the project.
One of the greatest strengths of the project is the interest and desire of people with visual disabilities to support the program. In the meetings, some invaluable leaders were detected with whom it has been planned to establish a group to promote the community. These identified people have shown all their interest in collaborating in the program.
Parents and their disabled children have great resilience and determination to overcome obstacles, their ability to adapt to difficulties is a significant strength and they have proposed training to collaborate in support rooms.
