PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
Provide peasant women, in the municipality of CAJAMARCA, with a self-sustainable and renewable ACUAPONIA production model that generates productive employment opportunities, with the training and selection of work groups for the implementation of production infrastructure.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
With this system and model, our club, developing social commitment with its community, focused this project on circular economy in alliance with the University of Ibagué through its "Regional Bioeconomy Research Laboratory - COLIBRÍ", with the purpose of energizing economies. local, creating productive employment opportunities and improving access to sustainable sources of livelihood, strengthening research and production of phyto-therapeutic and pharmaceutical inputs for the national industry.
With this model, women in the region will have access to training and the development of ACUOPONIA technology, applying the concepts of the FAO (2022), through which it seeks to consolidate groups of committed families and in turn replicators of the model that allows them commercialize responsible crops that provide food security to the region and generate an economic model, strengthening and empowering the capacity of farmers with innovative models, obtaining economic returns by optimizing their collective knowledge. It is important to mention that these initiatives encourage research for new scientific developments that could contribute significantly to the local economies of the community in general.
According to FAO (2022), aquaponics generates a sustainable and circular food production system, in which there is efficient use of water with protein production, less generation of waste, higher quality of agricultural products and broad possibilities of participation of any person, regardless of age, gender or conditions, in the operation of the system. Aquaponics can be considered one of the many ways to generate inclusive socio-economic models; as an alternative bioeconomy.
This initiative will transfer to the regions the knowledge acquired with the advances, research and results of the aquaponics project led by ROTARY IBAGUE OCOBOS with its developer the University of Ibagué through the Regional Bioeconomy Research Co-Laboratory - Colibrí, where it is located the first successful model of the project is in operation.
NEEDS AND BENEFICIARIES
In the Cajamarca municipality, it can be highlighted that agricultural and livestock activities constitute the main source of income. Currently, they are deeply affected by the instability of prices of agricultural products at the national level, and the lack of diversification in crops, which, consequently, do not favor the quality of life of farmers, who, in addition, keep in his memory the traces of the time of violence in Colombia.
The project will offer an alternative to diversify family income by installing a productive system that links all members of the community, regardless of their gender or age. Likewise, it will facilitate access to good quality food, contributing to food security. Also, it will bring an innovative, sustainable, efficient and modern productive alternative that can encourage the participation of young people in productive activities and thus promote generational change.
Additionally, this project is strategically designed to contribute to the Phyto therapeutic industry, with the production of quality inputs, taking into account that today a large part of these inputs are imported.
The beneficiaries of this project will be CENSORED peasant women belonging to associations and unions. It is estimated that there will be approximately 140 direct beneficiaries or farmers and more than 1,000 indirect beneficiaries such as family members, members of the productive chain, merchants and final consumers, without taking into account the scope of beneficiaries of the Phyto therapeutic and pharmaceutical by-products produced by laboratory chains at the national level. national.
