Project Description

Region: Eastern Europe

Country: Turkey

Location: Istanbul

Total Budget: $30,540

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

The purpose of this Global Grant is to purchase and donate one Ultrasound device the Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical Faculty, Department of Radiology.

Radiology department is one of the oldest departments of radiology in Turkey with decades of academic work and health services and is considered one of the most prestigious institutions in our country. Ultrasound unit is one of the busiest in the department with ultrasound and Doppler scan being a baseline, noninvasive and practical method of imaging, invaluable for the majority of hospital admissions. The addition of a new ultrasound device to their imaging armamentarium will enable them to serve more patient. New and updated equipment will give them faster and better diagnostic capability.

Sustainability: Hospital will take care of all the pre and after maintenance. They will minimally charge patients to finance all maintenance and spare parts cost.

Measurability: As our counterparty is a state-owned university hospital, they provide all the data that we require for the project. Our club supported Istanbul University Medical faculty in past and we are continuously in contact with them and receive their needs regularly. We will take care of selection of equipment, take care of documents and payment, closely monitor delivery of equipment and training of equipment by vendor.
