Area of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention

Promote gender equality and the fight against violence against women and girls victims of the armed conflict through the empowerment of women in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Cabal (Risaralda).

This intervention project aims to be a commitment to the social inclusion of girls and adolescents in a situation or at risk of social exclusion from empowerment, all from a gender perspective, since only from this perspective can the reason for violence and social and historical exclusion of women be truly understood.

The project revolves around the detection and prevention of situations of inequality and violence against women, in parallel a space will be created for the empowerment of these women, based on training processes on topics such as: equality, gender, violence, sexual and affective relationships, self-esteem, self-defense, empowerment seeking the development of socio-emotional competencies and skills that also allow them to improve the quality of life towards the economic sustainability, entrepreneurship and the possibility of generating income.

Santa Rosa de Cabal is one of the main recipients of displaced people in the Department of Risaralda. Given that in recent years in the Municipality of Santa Rosa de Cabal there has been a very high number of displaced people in the reception of

the displaced population. The displaced population that arrives in this population is made up of women heads of household who are responsible for five or six children.

The project has a collective action approach as a strategy that seeks to help groups of women displaced by violence to develop their capacities to identify their problems and opportunities and find their own solutions to improve their reality.

Creative thinking and innovative solutions are essential to achieve progress for women and girls and ensure project continuity. The Project also contemplates the economic empowerment of women and girls, an initiative to finance minor ventures and business ideas, also developing inter-institutional articulation strategies seeking an adequate insertion of women victims of gender violence and forced displacement, in the economic sector of the municipality of Santa Rosa de Cabal from the promotion of their enterprises to facilitate favorable conditions for the generation of
