Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Perú

Location: Chimbiote

Total Budget: $106,800

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

Chimbote is known for the port activity that is carried out there, as well as for being an important headquarters of the country's fishing and steel industry, as well as the commercial hub of this part of Peru. In the middle of the 20th century, its port became the one with the greatest fishing production. Brigadier CBP José Gabriel Ugaz Barrantes First Chief of the Salvadora Chimbote Fire Company N°33 reports, the official firefighters are those created either by the District or Municipal Councils to carry out the public service and the volunteers are organizations or associations without the intention of common utility profit with legal status issued by the government. Ground assistance is provided by the fire company in the event of a serious or urgent situation in which they find themselves and/or that puts the lives of citizens at risk or if they are not transferred or attended to in a timely manner. It should be noted that the population requiring land transportation (ambulance) in 2023 was 657 services and the objective is to acquire a new class B ambulance unit and train firefighters to optimize their work providing customer service.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
