Project Description

Region: Asia

Country: India

Location: Nagpur

Total Budget: $48,300

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

Vidarbha is the north eastern region of state of Maharashtra . It borders the state of Madhya Pradesh , Chattisgarh and Telangana. It holds 21.3 % of total population of Maharashtra. Foetal anomalies are prominent problem in this area and overall. Vidarbha consists of Naxalite and forest areas with extreme climate where maximum population is rural. There is higher illiteracy rate and lack of awareness regarding evaluation of the foetus during pregnancy. Most of the patients ignore undergoing the scan of foetus due to lack of money or means of transportation. In India, more than 1.7 million children are born with birth defects every year. A USG Machine with capacity to pick up foetal anomalies is an essential diagnostic tool used to evaluate the foetes during pregnancy. It provides detailed imaging and enables healthcare professional to assess not only cardiac structure and function in unborn babies but also any kind of congenital anomalies. This machine plays a critical role in the early detection of congenital anomalies and heart defects, allowing for timely interventions and improved outcomes.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
