Region: South America

Country: Bolivia

Location: Santa Cruz de la Sierra

Total Budget: $54,112

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

Granting access to hearing aids for 300 economically disadvantaged children and adolescents, ranging from first to sixth grade in secondary school, within the Santa Cruz department of Bolivia, in order to reduce the impact that disability produces on their academic and overall education.

Specific Objectives

To provide children and adolescents with hearing disabilities with tools facilitating their connection with family and society. This involves implementing a training plan that fosters their holistic development.

Educate parents, guardians, and teachers on hearing health, proper care for hearing aids, and emotional support for children and adolescents with hearing disabilities.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit).
