Project Description Region: South-East Asia Country: India Location: Sangamner Total Budget: $32,900 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Project is to Carry out Eye Surgeries for 800 Poor ,needy and mostly old age people. RC Sangamner( Rotary Dist 3132),is located in Hilly and Backward Poor area.Many nearby village uneducated ,poor people in 7 Tahasil places above 60 age are blind due to cateract.This catareact Blindness is avoidable by surgery.They need Health Care very badly. Club organise weekly village screening camps and bring selected( diagnised)patients to Base ROTARY Eye Hospital run by Rotarians. Rotary Hospital http://rotaryeyehospital.com/ is having fullfledged Infrastructure with Full time Eye Surgeon(Opthalmologist),qualified experienced staff,Zeiss Microscopes,mobile van,Phaco Machine and Computerised OPD with all needed machines like Slit Lamp,Refraction Equipments etc. The total surgery package includes transport/food/medicines/stay/IOL Lens Implant and Doctor Fees. all this is FREE to Patients.
