Water for schools in Ensenada, Mexico is carried there in 5 gallon jugs and is not sanitized. In 2013-2014 Victorville and Ensenada co-operated in the building of FIVE 1,981 gallon water tanks and the supporting infrastructure at FIVE schools.
In 2014-2015 we provided THREE tanks using non-grant funds.
In 2016-2019 we plan to provide TWELVE more schools with three of these tanks each (max 36 tanks), which will provide clean water to the children and staff at TWELVE schools.
The Ensenada Noon Rotary Club is our partner in this project.
All the money from this grant will be used for the material, supplies and labor necessary to complete the building of the three water tanks per school and the supporting infrastructure, as in our successfully complete 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 projects.
Victorville and Ensenada club members and their families are engaged in the landscaping of the areas around the completed tanks.
We are looking for other Rotary Clubs and interested parties to provide financial funding to this project.
Rotary Club of Adelanto, CA has sent a check for $4,000 to the RC of Victorville and Apple Valley, CA have committed up to $4,500.
