Benefiting community: Over 3500 people(3 schools, Parishoners, 1 hospital)

Location: Kannabulemu is a remote county located in Southern Uganda, Rakai District and specifically at the bad terrain of St. Nazareth complex(schools,church,orphanage,hospital)

Clean and safe water to the complex and neighbouring community

3. How are these needs currently being addressed with local resources and/or government agencies, NGOs, etc.? If the activity is a scholarship, enter "N/A".

Unsustainable water harvesting from the roofs of the buildings since there are small volume water tanks.

The terrain so so bad that there is need to assist in developing a sustainable water supply system.

Activities:Plan improvement of existing water source to increase output; Conduct geological surveys to ascertain sustainability for the proposed improvement works; Constitute a committee to oversee the water works; repair and construction; Mobilise the community to provide local inputs; Purchase necessary inputs; Contract civil engineers to carry out water supply improvement works; Train ;local staff and selected community persons in maintenance of water supply facilities.

Need to be addressed: Access to safe and clean water for children at school and in the hospital.

Benefits:Plumbing works done covering St. Simon Nazareth primary school and the health centre-Nazareth HC III; Motorized submersible water pump installed of capacity to pump 22,00 liters in 4-8 hours; Pump and overhead storage tank constructed; Three 10,000 liter capacity tanks constructed; 2 personnel trained in management and maintenance

1. The Local government authority pledged to work on the road access to the complex so as to ease access for project materials.

2. The community will provide labour and tenure for the project items before and during the life time use.

4. The rotary club of Rubaga will provide logistical support, contribute financially and coordinate and monitor the project all its life existence.
