The Project is aimed at providing water to 9 rural schools namely Lwanyonyi P.S, MambaPS,Kabutala P.S, Kanoni(RCM)P.S, Kisoga P.S, KiduumuleP.S, Kirungu P.S, Nakijjo P.S, Namabeya P.S.These Scholls are located 100kms from Kampala in one of the poorest arears of Uganda.The total population of Pupil/ students in these schools is about 3,500.
Most of these schools are either Church founded,community based or Universal Primary Education. These schools enroll children from poor /disadvantaged families in rural areas who do not have access to piped water.
Funding of the project will therefore alleviate the suffering of these children, improve thier welfare for they will have access to clean water, improve their hygiene and reduce water borne desaeses.
This will also reduce on thse children fetching water from long distances which result into missing classes.
Childresn, especially girls are at times molested on the way to or from wells, the funding of this project will also reduce such cases. |
