   Philippines - Tarlac City

Water Purifier To Schools

$18,149

The existing eighty-six (86) Public Elementary Schools in Tarlac City, Philippines have been selected to receive two (2) units of microbiological water purifiers to each Public Elementary School because these indigent children attending these schools do not have access to safe drinking water. Drinking impure water induces many diseases and causes great hardship, especially to the young children. Diarrhea, vomiting, cholera, skin diseases etc., are few of the diseases caused by drinking impure water.

The microbiological water purifier does not require electricity and uses ultra-filtration (hollow-fiber) membrane to remove bacteria & disease causing organisms from the water. Each microbiological water purifier can filter up to 18,000 liters of water, and has an easy to clean pre-filter & purification cartridge for continued effectiveness.

This is a sincere attempt by the ROTARY CLUB OF CENTRAL TARLAC together with its international partner to reduce the water related disease that occurs in Tarlac City, Philippines by providing two (2) microbiological water purifiers to each public elementary school in order to help approx. 40,000 indigent school children to access safe drinking water.
