Cataract Operation

The Rotary SAGIP MATA (Cataract Operation) Project is aimed to provide free surgical operation services to 150 poor individuals who lives in the rural community that don’t have the chance of an operation in their lifetime due to lack of financial resources.

Individuals who have cataract will have a difficulty to earn a living and also be less productive in life due to this handicapped. With this project we be able to address this sight problem and also let them become productive once again in their respective livelihood or jobs.

We will be able to reach to 3 Municipalities in the rural areas namely: St. Bernard Southern Leyte, Bantayan Island and Boljoon, Cebu. A program on skills training and development as well as dengue drive campaign will be in placed.

The beneficiaries will be able to go back to their means of livelihood or jobs and become once again productive and contribute to the economic activity of the villages.

We will partner with a competent Optical Service group of volunteers who had been doing this project annually all over the Visayas and Mindanao.
