Signal Hill has three schools with 2200 students, many of whom come from low income families, that cannot afford basic school supplies. Teachers have requested donation of back to school supplies such as, pens, pencils, binders, rulers, markers, paper, back packs, crayons, etc. The timeline is to solicit donations and engage in fund raising from February to July 2016; purchase the items in July; meet as a group with community volunteers to pack the supplies by age group and school, and deliver before the first Back to School night in September 2016. The District Grant will be used to supplement Club community service funds and community donations to purchase bulk rate school supplies.
