Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Jackson, Wyoming

Total Budget: $5,000

Area of Focus: Peace and conflict prevention/resolution

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: Engage local high school students in a public art project that promotes peace and conflict resolution

In partnership with the non-profit group Jackson Hole Public Art, this project will engage local high school students in creating and installing a series of wall panels inside an underpass (tunnel) of a popular bicycle pathway that connects local neighborhoods to the public high school. This project is the antidote to graffitti; it engages youth in purposeful, self-inspired, and readily accessible art on panels that line both sides of this bicycle and pedestrian underpass. In honor of the Rotary Foundation's 100th anniversary, a theme of the pathway wall art will be peace and conflict resolution.
