Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Douglas, WY

Total Budget: $1,516

Area of Focus: Peace and conflict prevention/resolution

Activity Type: Education: Volunteer Services

Summary: Douglas

Our club has noticed that seniors applying for our local scholarships are not able to relate to the 4-Way Test. Eventually, the primary students will graduate, and they will remember the coloring book message. Coloring books will be given, focusing on the 4-Way Test for all first, second, and third graders. Each classroom will receive one paperback story book. The timeline will be ordering the books in December 2016, receiving them in January 2017, and distributing them to the students in February 2017. We plan to involve our Interact Club in the distribution of the coloring books and reading of the story book. The funds will be used to purchase books. Rotary members will meet with the students to help the Interact members. We plan to sustain this project by ordering coloring books for each new first grade class, which should only cost around $400.00 per year.
