This is a partnership with the Idaho Falls Development Workshop. This awareness program will do the following:
1) Supplement existing Public Service Announcements made available by a consortium named The Campaign for Disability Employment at www.whatcanyoudocampaign.org/blog/index.php/about/
Postings on social media and websites - and encouraging groups including members of the Idaho Falls Rotary Club and other service groups to post and share on their pages.
Secure free time on local television and cable channels for the same PSAs
2) Produce local video spots of the same nature by interviewing Rotary members about the value of people with disabilities in their businesses and in their lives. Interview people with disabilities to share how they benefit by being included in the greater community.
Post on social media and website - and encouraging groups including members of the Idaho Falls Rotary Club and other service groups to post and share on their pages.
Secure free and paid time on local television, cable channels, and radio
Create a print collateral piece using these resources.
3) Conduct a speaking tour of service clubs and other concerned groups in Idaho Falls and the surrounding areas using the aforementioned resources.
4) Conduct a minimum of one Group Speed Interviewing Event where Idaho Falls Rotary Club members will contribute in organizing and conducting the event. Members of other service clubs will be invited to participate as interviewers. This will help the participant with a disability to learn what employers look for in employment candidates and will allow the interviewers the opportunity to witness the value in the job seekers.
The Development Workshop is prepared to budget $10,000 towards this project from the proceeds of the Festival of Trees, as the entire projected budget is $15,000.The Festival of Trees Event in November will allocate $10,000 towards this project.
