Project Description Country: USA Location: Townsend, MT Total Budget: $3,692 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Rotary Club of Townsend will provide a new liner and set up the Community skating rink. 10 Club members will participate in the project which is utilized by 250-300 children per week. Townsend Skating Rink, LLC runs the ice-skating rink. Ice skating is the largest outdoor winter activity in the community and needs a new liner. The rink has been used by up to 40 kids at a time and is used by 250-300 kids per week. The rink is free and all equipment to date has been donated. Rotarians will set up and tear down the liner. They also set up and remove the hockey equipment, help sharpen skates, and offer skating lessons. Rotarians will also conduct fundraising for this project.
