Project Description Country: USA Location: Harlem, New York Total Budget: $2,500 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Rotary Club of Harlem working alongside various organizations to provide career training, workforce development and finacial literacy. The Harlem Financial Literacy event will continue the ongoing engagement of the Rotary Club of Harlem with the greater Harlem community. There is a major need for job/career training, developmental skills for the workforce, and financial literacy. This project will be open to the general public and utilize various organizations that are specifically trained to assist community members. The Rotary Club of Harlem will foster new relationships with Harlem residents via this project. Financial Literacy is a key component of the project that will include an all hands on deck approach of Rotary Club of Harlem members via lectures, tutorials, distribution of financial literature, and other vital information. The information that will be provided will be the building blocks for the future economic empowerment of many underserved individuals/participants of the event. This project will be implemented in Spring 2019.
