Project Description Country: USA Location: Denton, TX Total Budget: $10,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Reading and Performance Nook outside Emily Fowler Library for adults and children in the Denton Community. The Emily Fowler Library has many pleasant quite reading areas and a rich schedule of programs but only one program area where talking is practical. The Performance Nook will include and Amphitheater Space and Four Picnic Pods and seating for 50. The space will be used for Story times, Spanish Story times, Elementary Adventure Times, Twilight Toddler Times, Book Clubs, Gardening and ecology themed programs, and other small group classes and activities. The project funds will be used for the construction of the sight outside the Emily Fowler Library. The project will be completed in phases over several years. Rotarians in our club will be involved in contributions to the project and raising money for the project. The site will be donated to the City of Denton in commemoration of the Club's 100th birthday. A separate power point presentation will be sent to further explain the project.
