Our intent is to upgrade our local Orange High School's diversified campus to the 21st Century starting with the old well-used library. Recent Orange Chamber of Commerce tour, then followed by our Club's Vocational Tour, found many deficiencies. Computers over 15 years old, broken chairs & small tables, damaged carpet, poor window blinds, tables and desks with non-working drawers and jammed room doors all mean safety issues and difficult to use conditions for all users. Our best estimate from school maintenance personnel is 1200 to 1500 Rotary man and woman work hours (cleaning & assembling) and a suggested cost of $8,000 to $12,000.
In addition to providing a clean, attractive and safe learning environment, this project will bring community groups together; High School PTA, Orange C of C, and other local service clubs.
