Summary: To provide hard copy books to students of Title 1 Elementary Schools within Phoenix, AZ.


We have identified that within Phoenix, AZ there are several Title 1 elementary schools where school libraries have limited supply of books and children do not have access to books appropriate for their learning and grade levels. The Phoenix Arcadia Rotary Club has set out to help provide these students and their schools with a supply of hard cover books for students at each grade level. Through a partnership with the Assistance League of Phoenix, we have the ability to purchase hard cover books for about $1 per copy. The books will also include a space within the inside cover where we can include a Rotary branded sticker that can be used as nameplate for the student who takes the book home or for the school to designate it is library property. Our club members will be responsible for hosting a book drive at the selected schools to help pass out the donated books and stock the library shelves. We have targeted three Title 1 elementary schools within our area who are eligible recipients. Our timeline for the completion of this drive would be August - October 2023, which corresponds with the beginning of the new school year.
